Mr. Alford was a native of Malvern and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John B. Alford of Malvern. He was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church. Mr. Alford was an account. Survivors include his wife, Marguerite Murphy Alford; a son, Captain U. B Alford,Jr, a brother, Gus Alford of Little Rock and two grandchildren.
