Truman A. Starkey, 75, of Conway, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011.
Born in Conway, on Aug. 15, 1935, he was a son to the late William and Edith Marilla (Adcock) Starkey.
Mr. Starkey was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed playing golf and being with his family. He was a general contractor and home builder in Conway from 1954 to 2003. Mr. Starkey was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Oral Hase, James David, Oid Cleo, William Joe Deal "Jack", Thomas Hulen, Jimmy Neal and Dalton Lee Starkey; and sister, Lola Mae Starkey.
Those left to mourn his passing are, his wife, Alice Janell "Nellie" (Daves) Starkey; sons, Steven Alton and wife Melissa, Scott Allen, Randall Todd and wife Jill and Gregory Wayne Starkey, all of Conway; daughters, Patti Gail Hunter and Paula Ann Kinggard, both of Conway; eight granddaughters; one grandson; one great-granddaughter; one great-grandson; a brother, Verlon Kenneth Starkey of Conway; sisters, Dorothy Fay Herzer of Conway and Evelyn Jane Burnett and husband Edward of Wooster; three brothers-in-law, Velton Daves and wife Carol of Conway, "JR" Jarrel Robertson of Conway and Gerry Kuykendall of Otto; 13 nephews; and 10 nieces; and a host of friends.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, with Bro. John Greer officiating.
Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery with Ryan Lassiter, Royce Kirby, Gary Hutchins, Ben Rives, Gary Mitchell, Rusty Hogan, Billy Jack Roach and Donnie Owen serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of choice.
