He was the son of Raymond T Edwards and Elsie V Perkins.
Raymond was the brother of Sandra Mae "Sandy" Edwards Donovan (wife of Roy Donovan), Robert Gwyn Edwards (husband of Elizabeth "Beth" Pearson), and Sharon Anne Edwards Notarcola (wife of Joseph "Joe" Notarcola).
Raymond was the husband of Carol Geroud. They were married in 1966.
Ray served 3 years active duty in the U.S. Army in Germany. He obtained the rank of SP4.
After his discharge he became employed with his father and uncle at Iron Hill Lumber Company of Newark, DE.
Later he and his brother, Robert were co-owners of the Iron Hill Pallet Co., Newark, DE.
He was a member of VFW Post #475 of Newark, where he enjoyed spending time with his friends.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed NASCAR Racing. Ray loved his family, especially his daughter, Tammie, and he was so proud of her.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Tammie L. Edwards of Mt. Pleasant, SC; a brother, Robert G. Edwards and wife, Beth, of Newark, DE; 2 sisters, Sharon A. Notarcola and her husband, Joseph, of Perryville, MD and Sandra M. Donovan and her husband, Roy, of Smyrna, DE.
A service was held at 1 pm on Thursday, January 5, 2006, at R.T. Foard & Jones, Inc., 122 W. Main Street, Newark, DE 19711, where friends called 1 hour prior.
Burial was at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the VFW Post 475; or Women's Auxiliary of DHCI c/o funeral home.
