Notes: THE PARIS NEWS, 10 Mar 1955. 'R. A. (Rick) Adams, 76, one time pitcher for the Washington Senators, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at home, Rt.6, Paris, Thursday about 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Gene Roden and Sons chapel here, and burial will be made in Providence Cemetery, but the time had not been set awaiting word from a son, stationed at a navy base in Cuba. His wife, the former Miss Betty Elizabeth Coker, survives, besides these children: Richard Eugene Adams, now in Cuba; Bennie Adams, Altus, Okla.; Jimmy Adams, Greenville, former pro at Paris Golf Club, and Mrs. Truman Garrison, Paris; 10 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Hardy, living in Electra. Son of Elisha and Lottie Adams, Reuben Alexander Adams, was born 24 Dec 1888 [sic] at Adams Hill, which was his home all his life. He played for numerous semi-pro and minor league teams including Tacoma and Spokane in the North Pacific League and later in Louisiana and Texas, before a season with the Senators
