Services for Ruby Lee Smith Ballard, of Brookhaven, are 2 p.m.today, May 6 at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Ballard, 84, died May 4, 2005, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. She was born in Lincoln County on Aug. 10, 1920, to Virgil Smith and Amy C. Case Smith.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Easthaven Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands, Roscoe Smith and Plez Ballard Sr.; her sister, Elaine Allen; and a brother, James Elmer Smith.
Survivors are her daughters, Lona Smith Waldon, of Denham Springs, La., and Joyce Ballard Smith, of Brookhaven; her sons,Plez Ballard Jr., of Collierville, Tenn., and Keith Ballard, of Brookhaven; her sister, Mildred Smith Cupit, of Brookhaven; herbrother, Harold Edward Smith, of Los Angeles, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
