From the Boston Globe on Thursday, September 9, 1954:
WIllard E. Cadrette, 48, of 153 Willow Street, Clinton, died today at Boston City Hospital of injuries received when his car was struck by a freight train in Lancaster Tuesday afternoon.
Mr. Cadrette was an employee of the Mitex Furniture Company, Clinton. He was riding with his son Wayne W. Cadrette, 19, a United States Marine, when his car was struck by an eight-car New Haven train.
Mr. Cadrette was removed from his car at Trussell crossing and taken to a Lancaster hospital. He was transferred yesterday afternoon to City Hospital for special treatment.
Besides his son, who is still hospitalized, Mr. Cadrette is survived by a wife Rose M., two other sons, Donald and Eugene; and two daughters, Mrs. Henry Gagne and Miss Arlene Cadrette, all of Clinton.
A native of Lyon Mountain, N.Y., he will be buried from the Martin Murphy funeral home, 66 Church St., Clinton. Internment will be in the parish cemetery.
