Gladys Frances Addy, 92, formerly of Genoa, passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 and went to be with her Lord.

Mrs. Addy was born Feb. 28, 1921 in Genoa, a daughter of the late Frances (Douka) Masek. Gladys was a graduate of King Ferry High School and Central City Business Institute in Syracuse. She was employed with Lipe-Rollway in Syracuse, Crescent Corset of Moravia, she demonstrated Queen's Way to Fashion clothing, and had been an Avon representative for many years.

Gladys retired after 18 years as the first female letter carrier at the King Ferry Post Office. Gladys enjoyed embroidery, sewing and gardening in her leisure time.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald (Joan) and B. William (Cindy) Addy, both of Genoa; three daughters, Connie (Stephen) Gile, of Savannah, Diane Curtis, of Aurora, and Dixie (Randy) Negley, of Locke; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Addy, of Montana; 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Donald P. Addy Sr. in 1991; by her son, Donald Jr.; by her son-in-law, Robert Curtis; by three brothers, Rudolph, Charles and Benjamin Masek and by a sister, Blanche Wager.

Funeral services will be held at noon, Thursday, Oct. 24 at the Groton Assembly of God with the Rev. Sam Neno officiating. Friends may call Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon at the church, 701 S. Main St., Groton prior to the service.

Interment will be in Bird Cemetery, Locke.
