Elden "Chick" Adams, 74, lost his courageous battle of over four and one half years with kidney disease and passed over at 4:30 am, Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at his residence in Sheffield, PA.

He was born in Kokomo, IN to the late George W. and Erma Dessecker Adams on May 1, 1939. He graduated from Mineral City High School in Ohio. Chick's lifelong career started at the age of 14 when he began driving truck for Borden's Ice Cream in Ohio. Happiest behind the wheel, he moved to Sheffield while driving for North East Oil Co. Later driving jobs included Refiners, Eves, and while working for Crossett, Chick earned a million mile ring. In 1982, he purchase his own rig which was driven until retirement in 2001. He also owned and operated a dump truck which he used to build roads in the woods, operated the Sheffield Deli, and operated the concession stand and boat rental at Chapman State Park. He was a social member of Clarendon VFW #314 and the Warren Eagles Aerie. Chick never met a stranger; he loved to talk and will be missed by family, neighbors and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Lebould Adams, whom he married December 23, 1973 in Ohio; three daughters, Patricia Ickes and husband Jon, Canton, OH, Sandra Wine, Canton, OH, and Monica Palmer and husband Mike, New Wilmington, PA; two sons, Richard Adams and wife Jodie, Canton, OH, and Aaron Adams, Sheffield, PA; eight grandchildren, Shondell Bair and husband Jeff, Renee Wine, Scott Wine, Kesha Adams, Kody Adams, Kearstin Knecht, Kyler Knecht, and Kari Ickes; four greatgrandchil dren, Donovan Tristano, Devon and Alana Bair, and Brooklyn Adams; mother inlaw Flossie Lebould, of OH; two sistersinlaw, Bonnie Wescott and husband Mark, of IL and Linda Locker and husband Ron, of OH and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Chick was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Adams and Dale Adams and wife Glenda.
