MICHAEL LEE AUNE was born April 7, 1955 at Valley City, ND. Mike grew up on a farm north of Sanborn, ND. He was baptized and confirmed in the Luthern faith. Mike attended the first two years of school at Rogers, ND. Due to school consolidation, he then attended the rest of the years at North Central of Barnes, graduating in 1973. He was active in football, basketball, track, 4H and church. After graduation he attened North Dakota State School of Science for Heating and Refrigeration. In 1975 he started working in Valley City for a heating and cooling business.
Mike married Ruth Ann Wendt June 14, 1975 at Grand Rapids, ND. In 1977 they moved to Finley, ND, where Mike managed Cenex. Together they had three children Erica Lynn born January 23, 1979, Joshua Michael born February 18, 1981 and Amber LeeAnn born My 6, 1985. Michael died January 9, 1986 from injuries sustained in a car accident on January 9, 1986. Michael is buried at Finley, ND.
Ruth married Jeffrey A. Nathan. He adopted Erica, Joshua and Amber.
