He was a resident of Baraboo all of his life and had been employed at Badger Ordinance Works, Northwestern Railroad and Island Woolen Company up until his retirement. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Burr Green (Lillian), and Mrs. Verne Dreifke (Viola), both of Baraboo; one son, Arthur, Evansville; 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edward, Rock Springs; and Alex, Baraboo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna in 1959, three sons, Kenneth, Irwin and Henry, three sisters and one brother.
Funeral services were held in St. John's Lutheran Church and burial was made in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
