He graduated from Norway High School in 1959. Charles began working with Smith Carona in Orangeburg, where he received his training as a Tool and Die Maker. He later worked as a Tool and Die Maker with Holland Atlantic Hitch Company and Husqvarna. He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church where he served as Superintendent of Sunday School, and was a Mason and a Shriner. Charles enjoyed attending Clemson football games with his family and loved following the Tigers. He also enjoyed traveling to New York City with his children and attending New York Yankees games. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and was loved by all.
Survivors include his wife of the home; daughter: Gaye Bair and her daughter, Elizabeth; sons: Curt Bair and his wife, Katrina and children Kacey, Evan and Trent; Ricky Bair and his wife Jennifer and children Ryan, Riley, Peyton, Prusher, Bolden and Berkeley; Barry Bair and his wife Amber and children Kaden and Hanna; brother: Ernest R. Bair, Jr. and his wife Margaret of Orangeburg; and sister: Jackie B. Davis of Warner Robbins, GA.
A graveside service will be held at 4 PM on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at the Norway Cemetery with the Rev. Neil Flowers and Rev. David Williamson officiating. The family will receive friends before the service from 2 - 4 PM on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at St. John's United Methodist Church, Norway, SC. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Charles Walker, Jeffrey Davis, Lee Williams, Harvey Williamson, Jr., Joey Williamson, Wayne Dyches, Jeff Neeley and Jake Jacobs.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church, 217 St. John's Avenue, Norway, SC 29113.
