After emigrating to the United States, Albert married Myra Lucy Johnson on 15 March 1904 in Las Animas, Bent, Colorado. Later they moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and raised their family there.

Albert and Myra had eleven children - Helen, Oren, Ruth, Oliver, Thora, Thelma, Paul, Otto, Myrl, Roy and Martha.

Myra and Albert died four days apart, she from complications of diabetes, he from injuries sustained in a car accident.
