Louise Lutes nee Weathers had two daughters, Mary Louise and Jessie Ann Weathers whom she raised with the help of her parents, Louise and Milton Rose. Mary Louise married Richard Davis in 1957 and had four children. Jessie Weathers had two children.

In 1950, Louise Weathers married James Burgess.
Soon after their marriage, Louise and Jim adopted four (4) children-John Waukazoo (Burgess), Nicholas J. Waukazoo (Burgess), William Waukazoo (Burgess) and Dora Waukazoo (Burgess.

All the children changed their last name from WAUKAZOO to BURGESS following the adoption.

Nicholas J. Burgess was in an auto accident in Antrim County Michigan in 1979.
John L Burgess was killed in the line of duty in Vietnam 1970.
