In 1936 Doris and Anna contributed murals to the 'RMS Queen Mary'. They also contributed artwork in 1940 to the 'RMS Queen Elizabeth'.

Their lifestlye was reflected in their art. It presented a mixture of:

Theatrical work with Noel Coward evolved into costume design work in several Hollywood and British films.

During WWI she was asked to contribute her artistic talents to record the war efforts. Doris was tortured for the rest of her life by her experiences, that is, the sights, smells and feelings regarding the Concentration Camp - Belsen. She wrote home letters full of the agony she was witnessing and those visions never left this sensitive woman for the remainder of her life.

Doris started her theatrical designer work again (after WWII), but on a smaller scale. During her later years, she rarely did art shows.
