Mrs. Ascough was the widow of John D. Ascough, one of the founders of the Knickerbocker Ice Co., of New York, and formerly she and her husband lived at Rockland Lake for several years. She died on Wednesday last, at her home, No. 137 West Eleventh street, New York city, in the 85th year of her age.

The grave in Oak Hill on Sunday caused many persons to pause and look at the flowers upon it. At the head was a large and beautiful crown of white flowers, resting upon a base formed principally of hydrangeas. Lying upon and nearly covering the mound between the crown and the foot of the grave were several exquisite pieces made of purple and white chrysanthemums and roses, and at the foot stood upright a sheaf of wheat, at the bottom of which was a wreath of white roses and ivy. The Ascough plot is one of the most, beautifully located in the cemetery. It is situated on a lovely slope looking toward the town, and on the east side is a large and gracefully-formed oak tree which affords abundant shade in that quarter.
