Nancy Jane Campbell married James Jackson Alexander.

The following obituary was published by The Telephone on 24 March 1910, page one, column 7.

THE ROLL OF DEATH

After two weeks attack of gripp, Mrs. Nancy J. Alexander, past 94 years of age and one of Monroe County's first and most beloved inhabitants, ended her long life in peace Wednesday night at 11:30 o'clock at her home on 3rd and College Avenue.

Mrs. Alexander was born in Lexington, Kentucky, October 13, 1815, her maiden name being Campbell. At the age of 19 she was united in marriage to James J. Alexander, and the same year came to this county, with her husband and settled near the place where Unionville is now located. Bloomington at that time was mostly a very heavy woodland. Mr. and Mrs. Alexander moved to this city 35 years ago, her husband dying eight years later.

Mrs. Alexanders long life was one filled with Christianity, and as a faithful member of the Christian Church, has left many good deeds and records to be remembered by her many friends and acquaintances for years to come.

Three children survive to mourn her death: Mrs. Mary Barnhill, who for the past year has been living with her mother; Mrs. John Crafton, of Roachdale, and James N. Alexander, three miles east of the city.
Funeral at the residence Friday 2:30 o'clock. An effort is being made to secure the services of the Rev. T. J. Clark, former minister of the Christian Church of this city, who is now preaching in Illinois, to conduct services. Burial at Rose Hill.

The pall bearers are John, William, George and Fred Campbell, of this city, Newton N. Campbell of Bloomington, Illinois and Oscar Campbell of Clear Creek.
