RURAL LISBON - Mr. David L. Carlson, 56, of Rural Lisbon, died late Saturday evening, Aug. 18, 2007 at Morris Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. Richard Smith officiating. Interment will be in West Lisbon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Born Aug. 24, 1950 in Joliet, he was a son of Donald and Phyllis (Bull) Carlson.
He graduated from Newark High School with the Class of 1968, from Joliet Junior College and from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale in 1972. On Oct. 25, 1974 he married Deborah Williams at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. They lived their entire married life in Rural Lisbon where he was a grain-livestock farmer. He was employed at “D" Construction Inc. and enjoyed his years as a teacher and coach at Lisbon Grade School. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, an avid White Sox fan, and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Deb, Rural Lisbon; four children, Jason (Erica) Carlson, Crystal (Matt) Monsess, Justin Carlson and Kerry Carlson, all of Rural Lisbon; three grandchildren, Zach and Tess Carlson, Danielle Monsess and another Monsess grandchild on the way; three brothers, Donald (Sue) Carlson, Newark, Wayne (Connie) Carlson and Jerry (Cindy) Carlson, all of Morris; four sisters, Pat (Rich) Knudson, Sycamore, Rudell Bullis, Morris, Sandy (Nels) Walker, Booneville, Ind., and Gail (Kelly) Hussey, Morris; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Carlson was preceded in death by his parents and one niece, Lori Carlson. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
