Actor. A native of San Francisco, California, he was a noted choreographer, director, vocal coach, and actor in both the theater and motion pictures. He is best remembered for his role as the drunken father 'Chris Christofferson' in "Anna Christie", both in its original 1923 Broadway theater production, and its 1930 motion picture adaptation starring Greta Garbo. He appeared onstage in "A Reign Of Error" (1899), "The Cadet Girl" (1900), "Woodland" (1904), "The Fascinating Widow" (1911), "The Merry Widow" (1921), "Atlas And Eva" (1928), and "Boom Boom" (1929). His other films include "Bringin' Home The Bacon" (1924), "Rolling Home" (1926), and "A Lady's Morals" (1930). He also directed "Robinson Crusoe" and "Madam X", both in 1916. He was the father of writer George Marion Jr.
