Nachhattar Singh Batth passed away peacefully at the home of his son on Monday, July 15, 2013, at the age of 86 years.

Born in India July 8, 1927 to parents Sham Singh Batth and Surjit Kaur, Sir N. Batth spent his early adult years in Punjab, where he made a career within agriculture. Seeking better opportunities for his children, he immigrated to California in 1967, where he began tillage on his American Dream. He eventually settled with his wife, Gurdev Kaur, in Selma, CA, where he spent the next three decades farming in the Central Valley.

He lived a very fulfilling, good life, and made sure his children had every opportunity possible to succeed. It is testament to his character that all of his children today are very accomplished, successful individuals.

Sir N. Batth was a very loving man to all those who knew him, and believed in living an honest and just life; ideals that he maintained even in his late years. He shared a very strong camaraderie with his brothers throughout his life, and was happiest in the company of his family. His legacy will carry on not only through his family, but also through the remarkable reputation he leaves behind. Sir Nachhattar Singh Batth will always be remembered as a very loving brother, father, grandfather, and above all, as a very good man.

Sir N. Batth is survived by his wife, Gurdev Kaur; sons: Raghbir Singh Batth and Paul Singh Batth; daughters: Kulwant Rai, Kuljeet Kaleka, and Manjeet Gill. He is also survived by two daughters-in-law; two sons-in-law; his nephew, Kulraj Sidhu, 17 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Tinkler Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 475 N. Broadway, Fresno, CA 93701, on July 20, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

A Memorial Service will be held at Pacific Coast Diwan Society, 2025 W. Clemenceau Avenue, Caruthers, CA 93609, on Saturday, July 20, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
