Three days ago the world lost a great man. He was a lover of his community, of his church, of his Rotary, his country, and most importantly, his God. And of course the Republicans and the 'Dogs. Rod Buck was the peace maker, the diplomat, and the problem solver.

Rod served his church through council, committees, men's bible study, classes and Wednesday activities. He wanted to know every church member by first and last name. He practiced with the church directory when he thought he was getting rusty with names.

East Fresno Rotary was one of the most important things in his life. He reveled in service to his community, networking with other Rotarians, and sharing a good joke. Rod was a past President and Proud Member of East Fresno Rotary.

Fishing, hunting and golfing were his pastimes. As the sign in his office stated "Golf is not a matter of life or death...It's much more important."

Rod excelled in corporate sales, eventually becoming a local State Farm agent. He never knew a stranger. Rod Buck will be greatly missed by all.

Rod's family was his proudest accomplishment. He always had time for every family member, every problem, and every achievement. Each family member felt special, important and loved.

Rod is survived by wife Sandra; his children, Rod and Angela Buck, Kim Buck and Brook and Allison Buck. He loved his five grandchildren; and his great-grandchild with a passion.

A Funeral Service will be held at Hope Lutheran Church, corner of Fresno and Barstow, on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Fresno or Clovis. Farewell Funeral Service (559) 440-0484 Fresno-Clovis-Reedley
