DANIELS, MARLENE ANN- 72, of Concord, went home to be with her Lord, at her home, under the loving care of her family and Allegiance Hospice Saturday, March 12, 2011. Marlene was the daughter of George and Doryldeene Mates, born December 15, 1938 in Jackson, MI. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Joseph Daniels; eight children, Lisa Rand, Julie Johnson, April Daniels, Richelle (Bobby) Crouch, Rhonda Johnson, Elizabeth Daniels, Joseph (Robin) Daniels, and Benjamin (Kim) Daniels; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Potter; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Marlene was preceded in death by her son, Steven Johnson; her parents; infant sister, Nancy Mates, and sister, Judith Shanyfelt. She was a wonderful, loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to her family and every other person who crossed paths with her. She gave of herself, clothing, and monetary help to those in need. She never met a stranger; "once she received a wrong number on the telephone and talked to that person for over an hour." She was an artist, great interior decorator, avid reader, and a soul winner for God. The family would like to give the caregivers of Allegiance Hospice a heartfelt thank you for their loving care they gave to Marlene. Mrs. Daniels is at the WATSON FUNERAL CHAPEL where a celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, March 15, at 11:00 a.m.; Chaplain Barbara Van Dyke officiating, interment Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for those who wish may be made to Allegiance Hospice, One Jackson Square, 4th Floor, Jackson, MI 49201.
