David was born December 24, 1945 in Marlborough, MA. He moved to Osterville in 1948. He attended prep school at Moses Brown School in Providence, RI and attended college at Boston University. He received special recognition for his superior work, dedication to hard work and efficiency.
David had a very successful career as an ASE certified auto mechanic. His knack and knowledge for cars first began to show at an early age. He began to own and fix cars as a teenager. During these years, he developed a passion for Chevrolets and was especially fond of Corvettes. This passion developed into circle track racing with his friends, Kenny Wass and Ed Parker. From circle track racing, he turned to drag racing with his sons, Paul and Jimmy. He was always willing to stop and help others with car advice and car parts. He became known as the “gentleman racer” at New England Dragway.

His interests included cars, cars and more cars. He often traveled to many NASCAR and NHRA events, including Daytona Beach, Darlington, and Las Vegas. He was especially fond of Talladega Speedway. He loved traveling with his wife, family and close friends to Florida, Colorado, Las Vegas and California.

In addition to his wife Carol, David is survived by his son, Paul Curtis of Harwich, daughter Rebecca Curtis-Guglielmi of Hatchville and her husband Scott and son James Curtis and his wife Christy of Cotuit.
