Henry was the son of John Beck and Josephine Pfeiffer. In 1899 he married Matilda Stein and they had one daughter, Gladys. Henry was a thirty-five year employee of the Fischer Leaf Foundry, retiring in 1934 as foreman of the firm's stove-mounting department. He was also a lifelong member of Fenner Memorial Lutheran Church; Excelsior Masonic Lodge; Electra chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Louisville council, Daughters of America. Henry died of uremia at his home, 1920 Rowan Street, at the age of 80.
