The Verde Independent Newspaper, 5/26/2006Constance Josephine "Connie" Steyaert, long time Camp Verde, AZ resident, died May 24, 2006, peacefully, at her home. She was born in Phoenix, Az on March 20, 1935, to Medard Tracy Steyaert and Helen Kelly Steyaert. She moved to Camp Verde with her family in 1951. She later married Bob Barker and had two children, Grant Barker and Jeffie Barker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by companion, Grant Denton; brother Bud Steyaert; son, Grant Barker; daughter, Jeffie Barker; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.Connie was laid to rest May 25 at Clear Creek Cemetery. Pastor Randy Strickland officiated the services. Memorial contributions may be made to a no-kill animal shelter. Bueler-Hepler Funeral Home assisted the family.
