David E. Anderson, 42 of Richlands, N.C. died June 11, 2009.

David was born May 12, 1967 in Belvidere, IL the son of James W. and Vicki (Neumeister) Anderson. He grew up in Byron, IL and was a graduate of Byron High School class of 1985. David attended the University of Illinois-Champaign prior to joining the US Marine Corp in May 1989. He recently retired, after 20 years, from the US Marine Corp where his career was primarily in the field of Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical warfare. David was most recently with 2nd Marine Div, HQ Battalion Camp Lejeune, N.C. and was a combat veteran of both Dessert Storm and Iraqi Freedom.

Survivors include his mother, Vicki Van Cleve of Rockford; brother, Corbin Anderson of Byron; aunts, Jeanneray (Ronald) Johnson, Connie (David) Stapleton, Peggy (Bill) Tedford, Debbie (Sam) Neumeisterer; uncles, Gordon Anderson, Rodney (Jody) Anderson, John (Nancy) Neumeister; numerous cousins.

David was predeceased by his grandparents, father, James W. Anderson; brother, Michael Anderson and uncle, Roger Anderson.

Funeral Information

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 26, 2009 in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to service time on Friday.
