Her parentage is evidenced by the 1883 Estate file of Daniel A Hawkins who died 19 Nov 1878 in Walker, Vernon Co, MO wherein he named heirs wife Mary A Hawkins, sons D B Hawkins, S S Hawkins and daughters Elisabeth Knotts, E.J. Adams and Emma Hawkins. His son David M Hawkins served as Administrator of his estate.

Eliza Jane or Janey married Danford Odell Adams on 5 Nov 1868 in Coffee County, KS. They had 8 children, 5 living to adulthood: Fred Odell Adams b. 1872 in Paola, KS; Zelma Emma (Adams) Smith-Addington b. 1881 Vernon, MO; Minnie Mae (Adams) Marsh b. 1886 Vernon, MO; Tony Ross Adams b. 1887 Hartland, KS and Archie Della (Adams) Hankins b. 1890 in CO.

3. 14 Jun 1880 Census for Walker, Vernon Co, MO wherein Danford, wife Jane, daughter Loretta and son Fred were living with Jane's mother Mary Hawkins, age 63, and her son David and daughter Emma Hawkins.

4. 29 Jan 1920 Census for Greeley, Oklahoma Co, OK wherein Eliza Jane's brother Samuel Hawkins, age 64, was residing with Danford and Jane Adams.

By 1900 Danford & Jane Adams settled in Indian Territory (now Oklahoma City, OK), where Janey died 31 Mar 1929. She was survived by daughters Zelma (Adams) Smith-Addington, Minnie Mae (Adams) Marsh, Archie Della (Adams) Hankins and sons Fred Odell Adams, Tony Ross Adams.

Funeral services Monday afternoon 3 o'clock at the Capitol Hill funeral home. Rev. R.M. N____ officiating. Interment in Fairlawn cemetery."
