Grover Cline Sullivan was born Oct 30, 1910 in Shawnee, Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma, the youngest son of five children (Lloyd C, Lionel Dennis "Dink", Ella Jewell "Judy" and Ruby Fern "Fernie") of Grover Cleveland Sullivan and Ella Elizabeth Markel. He spent most of his childhood in Oklahoma, and his parents moved to Los Angeles in the 1930's.

He married Georgia Lee Patton on Oct 13, 1934 in Yuma, Arizona and they raised their family of 3 sons and 1 daughter in Van Nuys, California where Grover earned his living as a custom construction carpenter, successfully surviving the end of the depression era followed by WW II and its negative impact on construction materials and supplies.

He died suddenly just before his 55th birthday in Van Nuys, California and was buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills, CA.
