Adriana Assenti passed away on October 27, 2009 at the age of 83 surrounded by her family. Born September 7, 1926 in San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy, Adriana moved to San Diego in 1947 with her twin Renata and younger sister Sara to join her father who had imigrated previously. Devoted wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, she leaves many fond memories not only with loved ones but also with those who
were fortunate enough to have met her. Adriana came from a time where women were traditionally homemakers, but she was also a visionary. After the close of the first family business, she set her mind to making a future for her family. With much self sacrifice and determination, she was instrumental in the creation of Assenti's Pasta
in Little Italy in 1981. Adriana is survived by the love of her life of 70 years Umberto, five children, Roberto, Rosangela, Gilda, Luigi (Carmen) and Iolanda (Anthony), 12 grandchildren, her sister Sara Bruno, and many nieces and nephews.
