David H. Crane, who in times past had been a prominent farmer of Cortlandville, died Thursday night last at his home, 88 North Main-st., following an illness of about four months. Mr. Crane was born in Pontiac, Mich., 76 years ago, and had lived in Cortland county about fifty years, owning and operating a farm near McGrawville many years. He was an assessor in that town several terms and had also held the office of commissioner of highways for the town. About eight years ago he moved to this city, where his wife died on Oct. 28, 1917. Mr. Crane is survived by two sons, Elbert and Ernest Crane of Cortland, and by one brother, Lyman G. Crane of Lyons, Mich. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon, burial in Cortland Rural cemetery.
