Sarah's parents were William and Mary Doak. She and William were married on February 21, 1867 in Warren County, Iowa. Their three children were born in Iowa: William Harvey 1865, Mary Nancy 1870 and Charles A. 1873.

William and Charles are linked below. I have been unable to locate the burial location of Mary Nancy. Mary (1870-1921) and Willis Benjamin Ray (1868-1933) were married in Worth County, Missouri on October 10, 1889. Will's parents were William B. and Elizabeth Rowen Ray. Mary and Willis stayed in Worth County until sometime between the 1900 and 1910 census, at which time they are enumerated in the Twin Falls County, Idaho census. They had four children: Willis Benjamin, Nora E., Della M. and Hazel.

From Iowa William and Sarah migrated to Colfax County, Nebraska (1880 census) and then on to Worth County, Missouri (1900 census)and finally to Clark County, Washington (1910).

Sarah and William had been married 47 years at the time of his death.
