Frank A. Burkhart was one of six children born to Oregon Pioneers Calvin Peter Burkhart (1819-1907) and Elizabeth Jane (Doughty) Burkhart (1822-1886) at the family's home on a Donation Land Claim in Albany, Linn Co., Oregon. His parents farmed the fertile land in the Willamette Valley of Oregon and raised their children in the growing town of Albany, Linn Co., Oregon. He married Mary Francis Manning and they lived on their farm near Albany and Jefferson until Mary died from Influenza on Feb 23, 1923 and was taken back to Rogue River, Jackson Co., Oregon to be buried at Woodville Cemetery. Her death certificate notes Frank as her husband and her place of death as Linn County, Oregon. She is buried under the last name of Burkhart. Frank lived on his farm near Albany for the rest of his life, never remarrying. His date of death is approximate. There is a death record for a Frank "Burkhard" in 1936, place of death Marion County, which is the county where Jefferson is located. This could possibly be my cousin Frank's death record, although I've not been able to find a Frank Burkhart or Burkhard in the correct birth yr. range. Place of burial is unknown at this time.
