Musician. Born in Benchill, Manchester, England, he was a singer and percussionist who worked with several successful rock bands. He initially came to prominence in the 1970s, as the lead singer of the popular group 'Sad Cafe'. With his powerful rock voice and wide vocal range, he joined the band 'Mike and the Mechanics' in the early 1980s and provided lead vocals for the hit singles: "All I Need Is a Miracle", "Word of Mouth", also on the albums "The Living Years" and "Misplaced Ideals". He continued to tour and perform until his death by a heart attack at his home in Hale Road, Hale, Altrincham, England.
