GUNNISON – Erma Larsen Christiansen, 79, Sandy, formerly of Gunnison, died December 9, 1987.

She was born in Mayfield to Raymond D. and Lilly Christiansen Larsen. She married Milton Andrew Christiansen, September 18, 1928 in Preston, Idaho; solemnized in the Manti Temple. He died October 24, 1970. She reared her family in Gunnison. She was an educator; taught in Gunnison Elementary School for 29 years. Served as President of the South Sanpete Education Association Committee for Utah State Board of Education; was elected Utah Teacher of Year in 1965; an accomplished musician, taught piano for many years, active in church and civic affairs. Graduated from Manti High School and BYU. Cared for lovingly by her family, friends and companion, Phyllis Lott. Preceded in death by husband; son, Mc Ray; three great-grandchildren.

Survivors include: Lily Jean and Blake Lott, Toppenish, Washington; De On and Moyle Jensen, Arson and Jeri Christiansen, all of Sandy; Stephen and Janet Christiansen, Richfield; Lorna Tuft Christiansen, Spanish Fork; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral Saturday, December 12, 1987, Gunnison Stake Center, 12 noon, where friends may call two hours prior to services. Burial Gunnison Cemetery by Jensen Funeral Home.
