The body of Mrs. Mary J. Ackard, who died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.S. Stewart in Tuckahoe, N.J., arrived in Homestead today. Mrs. Ackard, who was aged 79, was the widow of Capt. A.C. Ackard, a well-known riverman and the mother-in-law of the late John F. Cox, former speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Mrs. Ackard was born in Mifflin township. Besides Mrs. Stewart she leaves a son, Capt. A.O. Ackard of Pittsburg and a daughter, Mrs. James D. Hays of Homestead.
