Mary was the daughter of Sarah Ann Smith Birdsall Luty. Sarah Ann was the widow of John Birdsall when she married Edmond (Edward) Luty, stone mason, son of Samuel Luty, also a stone mason. Mary married Albert Dean December 24,1887 at St. John's in Yeadon. They had seven children: Beatrice, Arthur, William Blanche, Doris, Albert and Ernest. This funeral ribbon was found in the Bible of Mary's half sister, Martha Ann Birdsall Preston who died in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1919.
