Miss Barney came to Kansas with her father in the early days and settled in Kiowa county.
She was married to John H. Beatty in 1881 at this place, and to this union were born 10 children 3 of which preceeded Mrs. Beatty to the other world.
Mrs. Beatty was a devoted mother and wife and will be greatly missed in her home.
There was a short funeral service held at the Cemetery conducted by Rev. Dent.
Mrs. Beatty leaves a husband and seven children to mourn her departure.
