GLADYS IRENE “PENNY” BAKER
MANILA, Utah—Graveside funeral services and interment for Gladys Irene “Penny” Baker were conducted Saturday, Aug. 3, 1991 at the Manila Cemetery in Manila, Utah.
The cremains of Douglas D. Baker were also put to rest that day.
Mrs. Baker, 70, of 861½ Oak Street, Alameda, Calif., died at 11:25 a.m. Friday, July 19, 1991 at the Alameda Hospital in Alameda where she had been a patient for two weeks.
A resident of Alameda for the past six years and former resident of Dutch John, Utah, Mrs. Baker died following a brief illness.
She was born Dec. 28, 1920 in Port Huron, Mich., the daughter of the late Sylvester D. and Julia Dunlop McEacherin Baker. She attended Cranbrook Kingswood School in Bloomfield, Mich. Mrs. Baker was a graduate of the University of Michigan where she earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts. She married Douglas D. Baker in New York City and he preceded her in death Dec. 21, 1989. Mrs. Baker was a retired commercial artist.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church, the Collectors Club of San Francisco, the Museum Society of San Francisco and the San Francisco Historical Society.
Survivors include four sons, James G. Baker of College Station, Texas, Douglas D. Baker, David Corbett Baker and Michael H. Baker, all of Alameda; two grandchildren, Patrick and Corbett Baker, both of Alameda.
