was born Aug. 23, 1902 in Har-
din County and was the daugh-
her of the late John and Laura
Charley Duren. She was married
to Virgil Adkins who preceded
her in death on March 19, 1979.
Mrs Adkins was a machine op-
orator for Garan Inc. and she
attended the Pentecostal church.
Services were at 1 p.m. Saturn-
day, March 22, at Shackelford
Chapel with W. D. McCollum of-
ficiating. Burial was in Crump
Cemetery.
She leaves a daughter,
Frances Ilene Evans of Atlanta,
Ga.; one son, Dan Adkins of
Huntsville, Ala.: two sisters,
Clyde Plunk of Crump and
Bertie Plunk of Sacton, Mo.; Six
grandchildren and nine great-
grandchildren
