Mary V. AUSLAND 86, formally of Seattle and Yuma, AZ. passed away January 10, 2004 in Redmond. Mary was born in Deluth, MN. on April 3, 1917 to George and Mildred Muessel. She graduated from high school and went to work for the telephone company in Deluth. In 1946 she moved to Seattle and married L. James Ausland also formally of Deluth. Mary worked for Pacific Northwest Bell for 40 years until the early 1980's when she retired. Jim and Mary were very active in the early days of the hydroplanes. Jim was president of "Rooster Tails Inc." which owned the "Miss Seattle". She and Jim traveled in their Winnebago until they finally settled in Yuma, AZ., in 1985. She is survived by her husband Jim; a brother William Muessel of Newport, RI.; stepdaughter Marilyn Larson; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. "To little love birds sitting on a limb, one named Mary and one named Jim".
