Terri Spencer Harris was born October 28, 1963 to Mr. Fred T. Spencer (who preceded her in death) and Mrs. Marjorie Spencer in Minden, Louisiana. Her church activities included becoming a member of Mt Calm Missionary Baptist church in Minden, Louisiana where she sang in the angel choir and served on the junior usher board. Later she moved to Shreveport, Louisiana and joined the Peaceful Rest Baptist church. As an adult, she moved to Dallas, Texas and became a member of Friendship West Baptist church. Terri graduated from Minden High School in May 1981 where she participated in many activities including band, majorette, basketball and track and was named Miss Minden High. She went on to Louisiana tech in Ruston, Louisiana and received an Associate Degree in Medical Records. She also served for a short time in the US Army. She was employed at Advanced Health Care Solutions in Arlington, Texas. Terri was a true professional athlete and an elite competitor. She had bodybuilding in her blood - it was more than just a hobby for her, it defined the core of who she was. Winning her Pro card and competing at the professional level was a lifelong dream of hers and she achieved both. Terri lived in Plano, Texas at the time of her passing with the great love of her life, Hal E. Swaney, who loved her completely and unconditionally. She passed away August 12, 2013, in the gym near her home in Plano, Texas, doing what she loved, two days after her Pro debut in Tampa Florida. Terri is survived by her son Earnest "E" Harris III, her life partner and soul mate Hal E. Swaney, mother Marjorie Spencer-Brooks (Granville), twin brother Todd Spencer, brother Anthony "Derrick" Spencer, sister Kimberly Hubbard, a very special cousin Pam Spencer Toney and many aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends, including the hundreds of friends in the fitness industry. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred T. Spencer. A visitation will be held Friday, August 23, 2013 between 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Hunters Glen Baptist Church 4001 Custer Road, Plano, Texas 75023. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Hunters Glen Baptist church followed by an interment at Restland Memorial Park, 9220 Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
