She married to her husband Mr. Ba Van Nguyen, a bank manager and had 6 children. After having children, she quit her job to take good care of her family. When all her children went to school, with the help of her husband she opened a small pharmacy in Gia Dinh, a province in outskirt of Saigon. She had many good years here. Being her own boss, she could do what she wanted. She always helped the sick and the poor by giving them the big discounts for the medicine.
In the year 1975, the communist took over the country forcing her to close her business, while her husband also lost his job. That was the hardest time ever for her. At last her entire family sought the freedom in US and settled in the heart of Silicon Valley of California since 1980.
She passed away peacefully on August 18 2015 after a lengthy illness, at her eldest son's home. She surrounded by her children, they held her hands and felt her precious last breath.
Mrs Nghiem's life touched many people who were in needs at times of war, it gave her great joy. She will be remembered by family and friends for her warm, sweet and pleasant personality. Her greatest strength was her faith in her family and relatives. We commend her to the serenity, peace and the blessing of eternal life.
Her husband and her son Hung Nguyen preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory to her three sons, two daughters, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many people who knew her.
We love her and miss her so dearly.
