Al was a successful businessman and investor. In his personal time he loved being with his family, playing a round of golf and participating in fund raisers for his favorite charities and golf courses.

Al is best remembered for his sharp sense of humor. His eldest daughter Jackie loves to relate how her father once thought about buying an old church that had closed down. His idea was to turn it into a restaurant called "The Last Supper".

Prior to his death, Al arranged to have his body donated through Science Care to advance medical research. When the family received his cremains from Science Care they proceeded to scatter the ashes over his favorite golf course as he had requested.
