Fannie was the daughter of Israel and Leah Ernst. Her birth name was Feige. The name Fannie appears on documents after her arrival in the United States.

Fannie lived in the Austrian province of Galicia. According to the birth and death registries of the towns of Boryslaw and Sambor, she was the wife of Dawid Flaszchenberg* and the mother of:

Gittel Flazchenberg (1875-1895)
Basche Ernst (1879-1895)
Hencie (Helen)Flazchenberg (1879- )
Birl (Benjamin, "Binnie") Flashenberg (1881-1950)
Elka Flazchenberg (1885-1885)
Moses Flazchenberg (1886- )
Serl Flazchenberg (1889-1890)

She immigrated to the United States circa 1913 and lived at 309-11 East 95th Street in New York City.

Fanny was taken to Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx on February 19th, 1920 where she passed away at 9:15 p.m. on February 26th, 1920.

Burial arrangements were handled by the Hebrew Free Burial Association at 245 Grand Street, New York City with interment at Mount Richmond Ocean View Cemetery in Staten Island on February 27, 1920.

At the time of her passing Fanny was survived by the members of her family in New York which included her daughter Helen (Hencie)Flashenberg, son Benjamin (Birl, "Binnie")Flashenberg and his wife Tillie.

In June of 2016, Great-Great Granddaughter EmilyAnn Frances May contributed to the Hebrew Free Burial Association so that Feige's headstone was restored and her plot be under perpetual care.

Fannie's grandchildren through her son Benjamin and Tillie were Belle, Bessie, Isidor and David Flashenberg.**
