Charles was born 4 Mar 1880 in Luck, Polk, WI or Denmark. He first married Hannah Elena Heiskari. They were the parents of:
Vernon Edward, Ruth Eugenia, and Irene Mildred.

Charles was a storekeeper in merchandising.

Information received via email from "Bob" Licht:
Grandpa Olson suffered a stroke back in the early 50's and was sent to the Veteran's Hospital in St. Cloud, where he lived, paralyzed on one side, in a wheelchair for quite a few years, but very content, and died in Jan. or Feb. of 1959. Mom and I visited him a number of times. He really liked his cigars, but having lost his speech, one just had to read his facial expressions, and there was joy written in big letters!

He was a veteran of the Spanish American War, and that was in 1898. He said he was a drummer boy, and only 15 at that time.

Death Certificate states: Charles died on 1 Feb 1959 at 11:10am. Cause of death as follows: bilateral lobular pneumonia, arteriosclerotic gangrene of rt. leg & foot.
Arterosclerotic heart disease and Chronic brain syndrom associated with cerebral arteriosclerosis with pschotic reaction.
