Former Janitor At City Schools Dies at Age of 72
Robert T. Brower, 72, a former Wichita public school janitor, of 1959 S. Market, died Saturday afternoon at his home following an extended illness.
Born Sept. 4, 1883, at Sargent, Wash., Mr. Brower came to Wichita in 1940 from Augusta, Kan. He had been a school janitor here for several years but more recently had been a janitor at West Side United Brethren Church.
Mr. Brower was a member of Broadway Christian Church.
In addition to his wife, Grace, he is survived by three stepsons, Ray L. Arnold, Great Bend, Kan., Jay C. Arnold, of the home, and Troy C. Arnold, Augusta; two brothers, H. I., Augusta, and Lyle M., El Dorado, Kan., four sisters, Mrs. Edith Sjmpson, Augusta, Mrs. Blanche Knollenberg, 2901 Aloma, and Mrs. Clarinda Burchill and Mrs. Cassie Covert, both of El Dorado; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Broadway Christian Church with the Rev. Ting R. Champie, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Mulvane, Kan., cemetery.
