L.F. "Bud" Evans, 95, of Rocksprings, passed away on Feb. 3, 2009. He was born on April 5, 1913 in Medina, to Lemuel "Doc" Evans and Edith Irby Evans. Bud was raised in a large family that included sisters, Alta Emily Hilman (Potty), Dora Loyd (Dodie) and Amanda; brothers, John Jesse Evans, Herbert Marion (Pete) Evans, Eddie Weslie, Claude I., Albert, Charlie, and Will Evans, Tom and Jake Click. Bud was a longtime rancher and a life time member of the NRA.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Elizabeth Sutton.

Survivors include daughters, Lelia Nell (Sidney)Staudt of Mountain Home, Marilyn Kay (John) Keeling of Kerrville, Dorothy Ann (Dennis) Sutton of Milana, and Julie Beth Evans of Kerrville; sons, Buddy Evans of Rocksprings, Melson Evans of America, Jesse (Jamie) Evans of Utopia, Randy Evans of Bandera, Mark Evans of Kerrville, and Michael Griffin of San Antonio; grandchildren, Weslie Evans, Donna Evans, Casey Evans, Rachel Moneus, Jarod Sutton, Monica Evans, Andrea Staudt, Veronica, Travis and Jake Evans; great grandchildren, T.K. Evans, Tori Raz, Trista Welsh, Heston Lovelace, Eva, Autum and Elizabeth Evans; great great grandchildren, Zana, Abree, and Arian Evans, Darian Chatpelle.

Services were held on Feb. 6, at Grimes Funeral Chapels with Mr. Martin Smith officiating. Pallbearers included Jerry Gold, Robin Shaw, Grady Desmuke, Andy Wilkerson, Rick Hair, Richard Evans, Alton Evans, and Jessie Faglie.

Interment followed at Hillman Cemetery.
