Francisco "Frankie" Armenta III, 37, of Houston, Texas passed away on August 12, 2012. Frankie proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army for 8 years. During his service he received several awards including the Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Expeditionary, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, two Overseas Service Ribbons as well as several expert marksmanship awards. In 1996 Frank became a multiple system rocket launch specialist and enjoyed this duty until 1998 when he became an army ground surveillance system operator. In 2002 he joined the Texas National Guard and was a member until 2005. He also became a Harris County Sheriff's Department Detention Officer in 2002 and enjoyed this position until 2008. Recently Frankie graduated from HCC with an Associate of Arts degree. During his overseas service, Frank found his dog L.B. in Korea and they became instant companions. Since that time Frank was always going out of his way to help any animals that he could. In his free time he enjoyed riding his Harley with his friends, rooting for his favorite sports teams and supporting his family in all of their endeavors. He would always be there for his nephews during their extracurricular activities and helping out any family member or friend that needed a hand. Frankie leaves behind to cherish his memory his loyal companion of 12 years L.B. and his other dog B.B., parents Francisco and Yolanda Armenta Jr., brother Ricky Armenta and wife Yaneth, sister Michelle Armenta, nephews Giovanni Gee and Diego Armenta and niece Sury Armenta, grandfather Francisco Armenta Sr., 6 aunts and 5 uncles and numerous cousins.
