DuPage authorities state that David Andrus was the instigator in a tragic family murder-suicide on June 11, 2013. Dead are Mr. Andrus, his wife Jeana and their daughters, Jennifer and Jessica.
As relatives were completing funeral arrangements Thursday, the father of Jeana Andrus said his son-in-law will be laid to rest next week alongside his wife and two children.
"All together," said John Infanti. "That's the way my daughter would have wanted it, and that's the way I want it... Something happened to make him snap and... a lifetime disappears. But he's not that person. They're still a family and they'll be together."
David Andrus is described as a hardworking person who, along with Jeana, was dedicated to daughters Jessica, 22, and Jennifer, 16. However, he was fired from a Willowbrook battery management products company the morning of the murder-suicide, the company said. Andrus, 50, was terminated for "cause" but officials refrained from releasing details.
Jeana worked as a food service substitute and substitute secretary for VVSD, and also worked in the lunchroom at Tibbott Elementary School in Bolingbrook for three years. She was very active in the Wood View Elementary School (Bolingbrook) PTA, according to Wood View Principal Mark Stange.
The 48 year old mother will be remembered as a loving and giving mother, a hard worker, a good friend - Family, neighbours and friends all tell of a woman who was a joy and honor to know, and love.
"It's such a loss," a neighbor is quoted as saying. "Everyone you ask will tell you the same thing."

Four caskets formed a U-shape at the Gerharz-Cappetta Funeral Home in Lemont on Monday as grieving family and friends remembered the four members of the Andrus family.
The caskets were decorated with flowers and photos, mostly of the family together on vacation or enjoying the holidays. A note basket sat atop each one, and of the 100 or so people that came during the day, someone left David a Diet Pepsi.
It was hard to believe the same family in the photos were victims of such violent tragedy. Jeana Andrus, 48; Jessica Andrus, 22; Jennifer Andrus, 16; and David Andrus, 50, were found shot to death at their home in unincorporated DuPage County near Darien on June 11.
According to autopsy reports, the women's deaths have been ruled homicides while David Andrus' death was ruled a suicide.
The funeral was held Tuesday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. The four family members will be buried together at Clarendon Hills Cemetery, according to the funeral home.
On Friday, Stephen Turner, owner of USA Skate in Romeoville, held a memorial for the family. Jeana worked at the skate rink for about five years and Turner said whenever she was there, she would bring her daughter, Jennifer.
Pictures were on display and Turner had his brother, who is a priest, come and do a service that evening.
"[Jeana] would basically give you the shirt off her back when she really couldn't afford the shirt," Turner said.
Jessica is a class of 2011 alumna of Hinsdale South High School, while Jennifer was a current student in the class of 2015, said Principal Brian Waterman.
It's still unknown what the motive was in the murder-suicide. David, however, was a former employee of Midtronics in Willowbrook. According to an emailed statement from the company, the employment of David Andrus recently had been "terminated for cause" from the company. Any additional details surrounding his employment would not be released publicly in order to protect confidentiality.
"Midtronics employees are like family and we mourn this tragic loss of life. Midtronics extends our thoughts and sympathy to all those impacted and have made grief counseling available to our employees during this difficult time," read the statement.
