REMSTER
Deloris Marie (Anderson) Remster was born June 16, 1924, in Lucas County, Iowa to Charles and Mary Anderson. She passed away June 6, 1997 in Chariton, at the age of 72.
Deloris attended Chariton schools, graduating from Chariton High School in 1943.
She was united in marriage to Lester Remster on November 7, 1942. Lester was in the service when they married. To this union three children were born, Sharon Kay, Gerald Lee and Larry Eugene. In 1955, the family moved to Des Moines, where Deloris worked for Meredith Printing. In 1969, Deloris and Lester moved back to Lucas County.
In 1970, she went to work for Hy-Vee at the corporate offices. Deloris retired in 1986. In 1988, she became a consultant for Tupperware in the Marshalltown area. In 1992, Deloris moved to Chariton Mobile Homes and became manager of the court.
Deloris was a member of the American Legion in Chariton and the Eagles in Tama.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother, Charles H. Anderson.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Hixson of Chariton; two sons, Gerald Lee of Des Moines and Larry of Chariton; eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one brother, Leland Anderson of Melcher, three sisters, Lois Davis and Donna Ripperger, both of Chariton and Juanita Bridges of Des Moines, several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 9, 1997, at the Fielding Funeral Home with Dave Tyree officiating. Burial was in the Chariton Cemetery. Craig Anderson, Mike Anderson, Ronnie Bridges, Raymond Remster, Steve Davis and Terry Derringer served as bearers.
