Lee was a self made man who started his company, North West Diesel Engineering, in the thirties. He traveled extensively to different big construction sites like Hoover Dan and Parker Dam in Arizona. He was one of the few diesel mechanic of the day and was sough after across the USA. He owned and sold big equipment to other companies and employed many people and was a mentor to all of his brother-in-laws who all ended working on cranes or selling them.
After work Lee was a kid engineer. He built any number of machines for the kids, swings, marry-go-round, teeter totter and all kinds of bikes, and odd vehicles. He was a kids best friend and everyone loved him. If only we could all be a little more like Lee Stewart this world would be a better place.
